THE IMPORTANCE OF SKIN CARE
I am pretty sure everyone reading this post values their skin. I mean it is the largest organ of the body. However, maintaining good skin can prove to be an expensive task. But I believe that taking care of your skin can drastically change the way you see yourself. Therefore I thought it would be a great idea to share my thoughts on these affordable skin care products that will help you take pride in your already beautiful skin. I have been using these products for over a year, some for two years so I have even each of them a fair trial.
Growing up, I had problematic skin due to my hormones being totally out of whack. But at a point in my life, my skin was and still is the best part of me. Thus far I have been able to maintain good looking skin with a simple day and nighttime skincare routine using products that don’t hurt my bank account.
EIGHT AFFORDABLE SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
Cleansers and Masks
- L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Milky Cleansing foam – R109.99 at clicks
The L’Oreal Milky cleanser is a beautiful morning cleanser as it removes any leftover makeup you may have from the previous day. It is super gentle on the skin, and it has Glycerin which will leave your skin feeling super smooth. I thoroughly enjoy this cleanser.
2. Neutrogena Visibly clear daily scrub – R121.99 at clicks
This one is fairly new to may routine but it is pretty good for a light exfoliant. I do prefer spot control one from the same range but the grapefruit does the job when my skin is feeling super crusty. It is great for spot control and getting rid of those blackheads.
3. Garnier Skin Active Miceller Water – R71.95 at clicks
When it comes to removing makeup, this is the stuff. It perfect for your eyes, lips and skin. The 400ml bottle will last you a good five months which is a significant saving.
4. The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfections Night Mask – R345.00 at clicks
This is a bit of a splurge when it comes to my beauty haul, but it is worth it. When my skin is going through the most this assists with any flare-ups, I may have and cools them down. Tea tree oil and salicylic acid have fantastic healing properties which makes this an ideal mask for those breakout flair ups. You apply this at night and leave it on. It works on the skin while you sleep giving you a fantastic glow in the morning.
Moisturizer, Serum and Eye Cream
5. Pond’s Flawless Radiance Daily lotion – Check in store at clicks
They have recently updated this range so I am not sure if they still sell it but if you are looking for a light moisturizer then I highly recommend the Pond’s daily lotions, not the creams. The creams are slightly heavier. If you have uneven skin tone then this will clear that right up.
6. Flawless Radiance Derma Perfecting Serum – R103.00 at clicks
This one is new to my routine, and I love it. If you are looking for that healthy skin glow, then this is the product for you. I apply this before my moisturiser thus giving my skin a nourished layer and healthy glow. Who doesn’t love a healthy glow?
7. The Body Shop Tea Tree Night Lotion – R160.00 at clicks
After removing all my makeup and giving my skin a good cleanse, I would apply the Tea Tree Night lotion to purify my skin after a long day. It’s heavy cream, so a little goes a long way. The 30 ml bottle will last for about four months if you use it sparingly. As I said, a little goes a long way. Which makes it super affordable in the long run.
8. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye awakening gel cream – R143.99 at clicks
It is never too early to start wearing eye cream. If you are looking for nourishment for your under eye area, the Neutrogena Hydro-boost is excellent as its sole purpose is to provide moisture and refresh that area. Its an affordable eye cream as you only need a little to see results.
